Trim audio online

Add an audio file, set the start and end times, and create a trimmed WAV. Everything runs locally, so you can hear and download the result before creating an account.

No server upload. No account. No AI-tool credits.

What this free tool does

  • Browser-local audio trimming
  • Start and end time controls
  • Trimmed audio preview
  • WAV download
  • StudioEditor timeline handoff

Make a clean cut without opening a full editor

An audio trimmer is useful when the recording is already right and you only need to remove setup noise, dead air, or an unwanted ending.

StudioEditor decodes the selected file locally, copies only the range you choose, and writes a WAV result. Nothing is uploaded while you use the free tool.

For cuts inside the recording, fades, music, multiple speakers, or a full mix, continue with the trimmed result in the StudioEditor timeline.

Frequently asked questions

Is the file uploaded while I trim it?

No. The file is decoded and trimmed in the current browser. It is only uploaded if you continue into StudioEditor and save the project.

Can I trim MP3 and M4A files?

Usually, yes. MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, and WebM work when the current browser can decode that format. Browser support varies.

What format does the trimmer export?

It exports an uncompressed WAV file. A compressed source is decoded before the selected range is written, so the WAV will usually be larger than the original.

Will trimming reduce audio quality?

The selected samples are written to PCM WAV without another lossy compression pass. The tool cannot restore quality already lost in a compressed source.

Does trimming use StudioEditor AI-tool credits?

No. Local trimming, preview, and download use no AI-tool credits. Optional processing features in the full editor keep their existing AI-tool credit rules.
