What this free tool does

  • Browser microphone recording
  • Pause and resume recording
  • Immediate playback
  • Local audio download
  • StudioEditor timeline handoff

A private recorder for a quick, useful result

The recorder uses the microphone selected by your browser and keeps the captured audio in the current tab. It does not upload a recording while you listen or download.

The download format depends on the recording format supported by your browser, commonly WebM, OGG, or M4A. StudioEditor can carry that same recording into its timeline without asking you to record again.

Microphone position and room sound matter more than any recorder setting. Keep the microphone a steady distance away and record a short test before a long take.

Frequently asked questions

Is my microphone recording uploaded?

No. The recording stays in the current browser while you record, preview, and download it. It is uploaded only if you continue into StudioEditor and save the project.

Why does the browser ask for microphone permission?

Web browsers require permission before any site can use a microphone. StudioEditor cannot record until you approve that request.

Which microphone will it use?

It uses the input selected as the browser or operating system default. You can choose a different input in your browser or system audio settings.

What format will the recording use?

The browser chooses its best supported audio recording format, commonly WebM, OGG, or M4A. The download button shows the correct filename extension.

Does recording use StudioEditor AI-tool credits?

No. Recording, listening, downloading, and normal timeline editing are free. Optional enhancement and transcription keep their existing AI-tool credit rules.
