What this free tool does

  • Automatic input detection
  • MP3 and WAV output
  • Local browser conversion
  • Audio preview
  • StudioEditor timeline handoff

One local converter for common audio formats

The converter accepts audio formats the current browser can decode, including MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, and WebM. Output is either uncompressed PCM WAV or a 320 kbps MP3.

Converting a compressed file to WAV does not restore detail removed by the original compression. WAV is useful as a compatible working format, while MP3 is smaller for listening and delivery.

Keep the original file as your master and avoid repeated lossy conversions. You can continue with either file in StudioEditor for trimming, arranging, transcription, and export.

Frequently asked questions

Which audio formats can I convert?

The tool accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, and WebM when the current browser can decode the file. It outputs WAV or 320 kbps MP3.

Does converting MP3 to WAV improve quality?

No. WAV avoids another lossy encoding step, but it cannot recover information already removed by MP3 compression.

Is my audio uploaded?

No. Decoding, conversion, preview, and download happen in the current browser. Upload occurs only if you choose to continue editing.

Does audio conversion use AI-tool credits?

No. Local conversion uses no StudioEditor AI-tool credits and requires no account.
